Arnott’s Bakehouse Restaurant
Come and enjoy lunch or dinner with us at Arnott’s Bakehouse Restaurant, you’ll love the heritage experience!
Set in the historic village of Morpeth, Hunter Valley, this newly established restaurant has opened its doors on the upper level of the heritage listed 1850's building that remains the flagship of Morpeth Sourdough. The same building that was used as a bakery in the 1860's by the owner Stephen Arnott's great, great, great grandfather, William Arnott, the founder of Arnott's Biscuits. This building is the last remaining historic commercial site used by William Arnott in the Hunter Valley, prior to the establishment of Arnott’s Biscuits in Newcastle.
Overlooking the Hunter River, the old residence is warm and intimate, with a small cocktail lounge and two dining rooms, combining a Victorian ambience with a clean modern elegance. The spacious, covered verandah set high above the village main street adds another 30 places alfresco, the perfect view for leisurely dining. A truly unique experience of history you will want to remember and come back to. If you just wish to stop in for a drink you can sample a local Semillon (for which the Hunter is famous for) or have a classic cocktail… a Martini or Champagne cocktail, made the old fashioned way.
Chef Jose Miguel, having come from some of the finest Michelin Star restaurants in Europe and a Two- hatted restaurant in Sydney, draws inspiration from the Mediterranean with his stylish country cuisine. His entire menu is unpretentious and proudly made by himself and his apprentice chef, right down to the champagne vinaigrette. Jose loves desserts and makes certain you finish the evening with something spectacularly delicious and of course, crafted by him. Join us for lunch or dinner; you’ll be pleased you did.
