Maitland, Hunter Valley is the home to many exciting events. Feasts of grandeur, movement, music and festivals of frivolity please visitors of all ages and provide many highlights throughout Maitland’s calendar.

  1. Australian Museum of Clothing and Textiles - To Have and To Hold

    Date: 10 March - 27 July 2013

    This display will showcase wedding finery and accessories down the decades of the wedding group, parents of bride and groom and what the guests might have worn. Garments worn by local identities will be featured where possible.

    Dr Pamela Harrison will present the fascinating results and stories from her current research Life and Death in Maitland Gaol; The First Twenty Years 1849-1869, featuring particularly the impact on women within the prison system during those early years.
